SET ESCAPE

SET ESCAPE determines whether the user can terminate a READ with Esc.

Syntax

    SET ESCAPE ON/off/(<expL>)

Defaults

    SET ESCAPE is normally ON.

Usage

With SET ESCAPE ON, a user may complete a GET by pressing Esc, thereby
bypassing execution of any VALID clause.

With SET ESCAPE OFF, will not allow an escape to terminate a READ.

Note that SET ESCAPE OFF no longer disables program termination with
Alt-C. This function is now performed by SETCANCEL().
